Very Rare Limited Edition WHITE TAG
Steiff Museum Innaugeration Celebration Teddy Bear.

In 2005, Margarete Steiff GmbH celebrated its 125th anniversary. To mark that occasion, Steiff Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH had opened a new Steiff museum on the grounds of the company's headquarters. It is a museum for the whole family, and is called "Die Welt von Steiff". The elliptical building is intended to symbolize the "Button in Ear", the trademark of Margarete Steiff GmbH. Zurich architect Andreas Ramseier believes that the museum is a consistent reflection of his philosophy of corporate architectural design. The scenography and design of the exhibitions inside the museum have been handled by Milla und Partner GmbH, Agentur und Ateliers of Stuttgart, a company which also designed the German Pavilion for Expo 2000 and is a well-known name in unusual branding concepts and creative productions. To commemorate the opening of the museum, which took place during the 9th Steiff Festival, Margarete Steiff GmbH issued this unusual Celebration bear ("Eroeffnungsbaer"). This Steiff-Museum opening bear is 24 cm tall and has been traditionally hand-crafted in red-tipped mohair.
He was only available during the Steiff Festival, which took place from 24th to 26th June 2005. His nose and claws are hand-stitched and he wears a bow-tie and a porcelain badge bearing the "Die Welt von Steiff" logo. Featuring the typical Steiff colors of yellow and red, every Teddy bear wears a white, consecutively-numbered ear tag and a gold-plated "Button in Ear".
The bear comes with a small certificate of authenticity. The white tag states an edition of 4000 pieces but actually only 1600 pieces were sold.
Teddy is in mint condition,comes from a smoke free home.
