Very rare; I've seen this on e-bay only twice in the last four years, and one of those was the listing where I bought her. This auction is for an absolutely breathtaking Snow Queen doll designed by fantasy artist Brom. As the Franklin Mint blurb goes: "For years she has waited for her one, true love. Many a handsome, young prince has apporached her, but as their lips meet in this frozen paradise, her hopeful suitors' hearts are instantly turned to ice. For she knows that their hearts are not full of love nor are they true. Only a tear shed from a suitor with a soul as pure as driven snow could melt her frozen heart. And so... she waits ... and waits. (The cynical seller cannot hold back and must add a "dream on, there, Queenie" to all this ...)
I am not the original owner of this doll, but she's in excellent shape. I had her on display, under plastic, for about a month. She's been confined to her box for the last two years. Time this doll was with someone who can have her out of the box to be enjoyed for her spectacular beauty. This doll is very heavy as she's the only Franklin Mint doll I've seen yet that is porcelain from head to toe; usually they have a cloth body. She manages to stay standing with that fantasy-based chest of hers-with the help of her original stand, of course. Her hair is a little mussed but nothing of note. Funky, uber-cool makeup, costume and jewelry. If this were in black, it would be so Goth; so, if white were the new black ... Approx. 18 inches in height.
Doll has no chips, stains, smells or other issues; comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. As close to brand new as you'll find for a "used" item. She comes with her original stand, as mentioned, as well as a vial in which to catch those very elusive tears, her icicle spectre and her COA. NB: a question from an e-bayer has led to me to discover, to my horror, that the "vial of tears" has some damage; obviously it fell in its first home, as I never took these out of their box, let alone displayed the doll with the accessories. A piece of the upper and lower decoration was broken off. You can turn it while displaying to hide the damage, but this has to be mentioned in the listing, and I've lowered the selling price accordingly. As the original owner shipped this to me solely in her original box, well, the owner saved money but ensured that that box is pretty much useless for you and me. If you collect boxes, don't shop here. If you are into the dolls that are in the boxes, you won't be disappointed.
Please refer carefully to the photos, ask questions, ask for more photos, etc. before bidding. Porcelain dolls should not be travelling back and forth in the mail and I do not accept returns under most circumstances.
For your protection and mine, I only ship by insured mail. All these dolls survived a major cross-continent move, so be assured I will wrap to excess! I am a collector myself so I know how important it is to receive your purchases in the best condition possible.
Payment by PAYPAL only with seven days of auction close. Shipping via Canada Post, insured mail. Any duties and customs charges responsibility of the buyer. These are big, heavy boxes, so you have my sympathies re: shipping costs. Been there myself ... ***Please NOTE: online shipping calculator seems to be inaccurate: expect ca. $30 shipping to Canada, $35 to the US. I charge you actual shipping costs only.***
