DESCRIPTION: This is a set of two window flower boxes that were made to hang onto a dollhouse window frame. They each have two tulip plants “growing“ in them. I believe that they were made for the windows that do not require plastic frames, but simply have stamped metal muntins in them. They just hook over the bottom of the metal window. Each of them is marked with the Marx logo, and they were probably made in the U.S.A. in the 1950‘s.
MATERIALS: Molded hard plastic; I believe the tulips have some factory-hand-painted details
DIMENSIONS: 2-7/8“ wide, but would fit into a 2+“ wide window opening (they are just barely 2“ wide at the hooks/hangers, so the opening would have to be just a bit over 2”)
CONDITION: Overall GOOD CONDITION. They are bright and shiny. I just lightly dusted them off, so they could probably stand a better cleaning. Unfortunately, one hook on one of the boxes has broken off, and both of them have a (extremely thin) stem cracked in two on one of the flowers. It is truly amazing that they still exist, at all!
This is a possibly a hard to find accessory for your Marx lithographed tin dollhouse.
